My big topic: Fear and how much it effects peoples lives.
Links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Knight_(film) : is the movie the Dark Knight which does an incredible job of showing how fear can drive people and how people will also fight back against fear. The Joker who is played by Heath Ledger, who is now dead, did an incredible job at bringing fear into all the hearts of the characters and even the viewers.
http://www.sciencedaily.com/articles/f/fear.htm : Fear is described by daily science and defined. They say that "fear is an extreme dislike towards certain conditions, objects, or situations".
http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/fear.htm : How Stuff Works tried to describe how fear works.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nHQSFKyjuc : This is a video of the Boston bombing and how it struck fear into the hearts of many people.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_dPPq9SbZ4 : This is footage of the movie theater shootout at the Colorado theater where the batman midnight premier was being shown. The shooting was held at Aurora which is honestly the sketchiest place in Colorado and it's where most news comes from.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11_attacks : this article talks about the attacks on September 11 that effected the entire nation and scared us to bumping up our security and becoming a safer nation.

Blog Carnival Movie/TV Character
If I had to be one TV or Movie character I'd be Sterling Malory Archer from the TV show Archer and I would be this person because he drives a 1971 Dodge Challenger and a 1970 Chevrolet El Camino which are both fantastic cars that people don't appreciate enough. Then the rest of his life consists of going on missions as a secret agent where he usually ends up completely screwing up the mission and still getting paid. He also has a servant who he treats terribly. Then again he also treats everyone that he works with terribly. He's also the most dangerous secret agent ever. Plus he gets had a kid who he tattooed his name on. Honestly I couldn't find a character on TV and in movies who is as cool and interesting as this guy. That's why I chose him as the character who I would most like to be as. It's actually quite interesting how boring this post is. What I've really learned about writing in general is that you have to be interested in it and writing about it. The dodge challenger is one of the historically prettiest cars ever and even though just about every modern car that we currently have including the VW Bug is faster than it. The challenger is also a great car to customize for drag races, but it couldn't make it around a corner in a race if it wanted to. Then there's the El Camino which is the more recent car that Archer has been using in the show. This car/truck/thing is just a sporty sort of truck that isn't twice the size of a garage. And it is also is is quite good for drag racing and drifting because there's no weight in the back of it. It also makes its 0-60 time around 10-11 seconds which is slower than a Prius. There is also the fact that it looks only a million times better than the Prius which makes it around a trillion times better.
The reason that archers cars are so amazing is their all good looking classic muscle cars. There are so many TV shows with bad looking cars. For example Psych has a Toyota Echo which is just an advertisement. There's also the Pontiac Aztek which is just another advertisement car that the producers decided to show off for a little extra money. The 1963 VW Beetle a car I've seen beaten by go carts "won a NASCAR race" thank you Disney for literally destroying the image of NASCAR. Then the A Team took a terrible GMC Minivan and turned it into some sort of race car of some sort. Then Jurassic Park had the Ford Explorer a car that is almost as unreliable as a Peugeot.
If you have read through all of this I am very sorry for wasting your time making something that doesn't match up to my "usual writing".

Blog Carnival #6 Post Apocalyptic
If the events in the Road happened today and we were in a post apocalyptic place; I think that the human race would quickly die out and honestly none of the stuff that they say happened would've happened. And if there were survivors they would probably be able to eat dirt and would work in a similar way to worms, they would be a new race whom are half man and half worm. Or they would turn to eating wood and be like termites instead, that race would be half termite and half man, probably with quite carnivorous teeth for eating wood. Eventually they would end up fighting a glorious battle where each last one was slaughtered and then life would cease to exist on the Earth. Maybe then life might start over through micro organisms that grow into small animals which eventually become large animals and plants would come back. Finally history would repeat itself after humans once again came back just so that we could do it all again.
In other words I'd really appreciate it if the current human race didn't do anything overly stupid even though we already have a few times. Just not anything drastically stupid which cause the creation of an odd race of humans. Even so humans have dominated one pathetic planet for a few thousand years and for only a few hundred years have we been somewhat successful.

Personal Narrative
This year I have taken up mountain biking and I can say with all honesty that it was the best decision of my life. The sole feeling of flying down a mountain on two wheels and probably dying gives you the greatest adrenaline rush ever. I started constantly biking last summer when I ended up volunteering at a bike shop. There I started with learning how to strip a bike, then after doing that for about a month I moved on to doing stuff like spot repairs on bikes. Such as replacing tubes and adjusting brakes. Then they decided to give me a bike, I can say with all honesty that it was probably one of the worst bikes ever. Now there one sole reason that this bike was bad and that is because it is French. It was a vintage Peugeot road bike that needed a ton of repairs. After a solid 24 hours of working on it I finally brought it into a decent working condition and ended up riding it around town a lot to restaurants, the movies ext. But then after around a couple more weeks of volunteering and learning how to fix up bikes better, I ended up fixing bikes and getting them into the showroom where they would be sold.
Then one day a bit before school started back up a friend called me up and asked me if I wanted to go mountain biking. At the time I only owned my road bike and this tiny little bike that I would use for fun. So I decided to invest in a mountain bike and so $350 later I got a nice used hardtail (front shocks only) that I ended up using for a while. Then a mountain bike was donated to the shop a really nice full suspension Tomac 78 Special that would have been bought by one of the guys that works there, but he didn’t have enough money, so he told me that he would sell it to me for $700. And that weekend I came up with $700 and he was feeling good that day, so he just decided to sell it for $550. This was the greatest deal I have ever gotten in my entire life. I have learend that the only thing that was wrong with the bike is that the brakes had gone bad because the previous owner didn’t really ride it and sort of left it alone for a while and so that is all I have had to do to it.

Parents
I believe that no matter what a child should respect their parents. There are a few exceptions but their few and far in between.
Some kids think that their parents shouldn't even be a part of their lives. For example I know this one kid Kyle who hates his parents guts. And his parents are very nice people, they wouldn't harm a fly. He thinks that they shouldn't be a part of his life ever and leave him alone. His parents have purchased him a car a very nice older Camaro yet he still hates them. He has rebelled in every way shape and form possible. Currently Kyle dresses like a gang banger and does crazy stuff that I, myself make me question if he is still human.
Then there's the other side of the spectrum another kid that I know who's an Indian and his name is Raj. He is very kind and loving to his parents. Yet Raj's parents constantly yell at him and make him do quite unnecessary chores, some of which include farm animals especially horses. Anyway he does them without a complaint and the temper tantrums that his parents throw are quite terrifying. If I honestly had to suffer through one of them I would probably end up with a gun in my mouth. Not only that, but his parents are arranging a marriage for him because it is an Indian tradition. He's in the middle of one of the biggest punishments for doing nothing wrong.
Then there are the parents. There are a couple types of parents. There are parents like Kyle's and then there parents like Raj's. Now I'm not saying throughout this entire thing that either its the parents or kids faults, honestly most of the time it's both of their faults. I can say for sure that many of my fights between me and my parents have been just about 50-50 my fault and theirs. And then there are the times that it's entirely my fault or entirely my parents fault. For example when my dad comes home after a week of working (he travels) he can be grumpy and I usually end up getting yelled at.
Today I feel that in many ways kids are very greedy and don't have an ounce of respect for their parents and could honestly care less for them. Which is terrible Bill Cosby said that his father would tell him "I brought you into this world I can take you out". A scary statement but a very true one indeed and there are many parents that want to be their kids friends and that never works. Then there's the other side of the scale where the parents are Stalin where they whip their kids. Now this is my personal opinion and I feel that I might not have any room to talk, but as a parent there is no need what so ever to whip your children. I just think that is horrible abuse.
Well that's just my opinion thanks for reading.

What Drives People
I believe that people are driven by the want to accomplish something either for themselves, for someone else, or to just prove a point. Take for example the current election each presidential candidate wants to win the election for themselves and for their political party. Or even Osama Bin Laden he did what he did for his own self gain and for his religion which he believed in deeply, but mostly because he hated American, because we would look into his affairs and doings. Chris McCandless ran away from his family and lived out in the wild for his own self gain he really just wanted to get away from society and to really what he believed to be living. Hatred and revenge is often something that drives people to really do crazy things. For example a man was tried in court for killing his wife after he didn't kill her, but was thrown in jail for it anyways and when he got out he hunted down his wife and killed her. I honestly believe everyone has something deep down inside them that drives them to do what they do such as cereal killers they have a drive to kill other people its just who they are or something that happened to them during their childhood maybe their parents were alcoholics or hated them and beat them. And according to people that have met cereal killers, cereal killers are actually very nice, charming people who are just like anyone else they just act like they like the people around them when in reality they want to kill just about everyone that they see. Sometimes very drastic life changing events can cause someone to become a psychopath such as seeing someone die or just them hating everyone that they meet. Motivation also comes from need even thought most rich white people in Boulder don't think about it there are people out there that need food and they will rob and kill people to get money so that they can get food. There are lots of poor kids that pick pocket people or just take food without paying for it. Poverty has given way to many gangs because people want food and shelter and gangs provide both of those. There's also drug dealing many people deal drugs because minimum wage jobs don't provide the pay that people need to rent an apartment and buy food.
Hitler is a perfect example of a man who wanted to control the world so he gave people what they wanted and basically had a very good start and got as far as Europe and was probably the most successful dictator to date at expanding his empire, but then America happened and since America is the greatest country ever Hitler didn't make it past part of Europe. So that worked out and America has honestly been the peacekeeper of the world because we try to put out fights so that they don't escalate to nuclear war which would change the world as we know it so even America is motivated.
